New Vince Lombardi Trophy placed on display at Hall of Fame
In a special ceremony Thursday afternoon in the “Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery,” Class of 2015 Hall of Famer RON WOLF, who helped build Super Bowl championship teams in Oakland and Green Bay — thus capturing the Vince Lombardi Trophy — placed the 2025 season’s most coveted prize on display.
Several Hall of Famers previously have welcomed the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Canton. That list includes players RONDÉ BARBER, LeROY BUTLER and DREW PEARSON in 2024; LYNN SWANN (2010); JIM TAYLOR (2009); and former coach JIMMY JOHNSON (2022). Each carefully swapped a replica place-holder trophy with the official version for the upcoming season.
Late in some seasons, the trophy has received a ceremonial sendoff to the Super Bowl city. Most recently, former Green Bay Packers linebacker DAVE ROBINSON helped prepare the 2023 season’s trophy for its trip to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII — a game the Kansas City Chiefs won for the franchise’s fourth NFL crown.
The trophy was renamed for the late VINCE LOMBARDI. He was victorious in five NFL championships that included Super Bowls I and II.
A regulation-sized football of sterling silver mounted in a kicked position on a pyramid-like stand of three concave sides, the Vince Lombardi Trophy stands 20.75 inches tall and weighs 107.3 ounces. The words “Vince Lombardi Trophy” and the edition’s Super Bowl numerals are engraved on the base along the NFL shield.
Fans can now view the Vince Lombardi Trophy they hope to see their team hoist in the “Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery.” Admittance into the gallery is included in admission into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrates decades of football excellence
Since 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame has honored football’s greatest individuals, celebrating the stories and triumphs of each enshrinee. As the years pass, Enshrinement classes mark anniversaries of their own, much like the Hall. This year, the Hall is recognizing 10 anniversary classes — a total of 46 Hall of Famers — dating back to 1965.
