Father’s Day was celebrated early on Saturday, June 8 when more than 1,200 dads and kids took to  Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium to play some football during the Hall of Fame’s annual Day Out With Dad event. Participants, especially Steelers fans, were excited to see Hall of Fame cornerback Mel Blount. The Class of 1989 inductee served as the event host.

Dads and kids enjoyed a day filled with football fun as they rotated through seven football stations, learning different football drills that ranged from ultimate football to fumble runs. Blount greeted fans, offered helpful football tips and posed for photographs with the Day Out with Dad participants.

Children also had the opportunity to play on football inflatables along the sideline and get their photo taken dressed up as a Hall of Fame player.

Members of the Louisville (Ohio) High School football team helped bring the community together as they worked each of the seven stations.

Blount was chosen this year as the keynote Hall of Famer for the event for being a positive role model for kids. The former Steelers great served as a positive influence Saturday as he brought several kids from one of his youth home in western Pennsylvania to enjoy the event.

After lunch, provided by Chick-fil-A participants had the opportunity to tour the newly expanded and renovated Hall of Fame.

Day Out With Dad was sponsored by Aultman and Chick-fil-A.
