The Pro Football Hall of Fame held a seminar for educators as part of North Eastern Ohio Education Association (NEOEA) Day. The "3 S's" - sports, schools and students - came together as the nearly 40 educators participated in the session on Friday. They learned how to use of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as an education resource and were treated with wonderful presentations from the keynote speakers.

Play_it_SmartThe seminar began with a presentation by the Hall of Fame's Educational Programs Coordinator Jerry Csaki informing them of the wide variety of educational initiatives offered by the museum. These initiatives included: field trips, one-day seminars, distance learning, and teacher enrichment days.

The seminar's keynote speakers were from nearby Alliance (OH) High School - head coach, Ron Kuceyeski as well as academic coach Major Latimer. They informed the participants on how they emphasize education through the school district's participation in Play it Smart, a program designed to train academic coaches to better prepare their student-athletes in academic achievement. Also on hand was Play it Smart Regional Coordinator LaLisa Anthony to answer any general questions in regards to Play it Smart.

Those on hand also were given examples of how the museum can be utilized in lesson planning by two members of the Hall of Fame' Educational Advisory Panel, Jesse McClain (Chairman) and Jami Cutlip. Later in the day, participants were challenged to tour the museum and examine ways they could tie their area of expertise to the museum exhibits.

All participants received the Hall of Fame's highly acclaimed 2006-07 Pro Football Hall of Fame Teacher Activity Guide and Hall of Fame souvenir. In addition, the attendees received credit towards Continuing Educational Units (CEUs).
