Rookie Receiver Record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie receiver Mike Evans has already made history during his career. The Texas A&M product pulled in seven receptions for 209 yards and 2 TDs to help the Bucs defeat the Washington Redskins 27-7.  At 21 years, 87 days old, Evans is now the youngest player in NFL history to record a 200-yard receiving game.

He also became the first rookie to register three consecutive 100-yard games with at least one touchdown in each since Randy Moss in 1998. He was seven receiving yards shy of Vincent Jackson's team record of 216, set two years ago.

Watt Continues Historic Season

J.J. Watt was a major contributor in the Houston Texans win over the Cleveland Browns yesterday. The defensive end caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Mallett, recorded a strip sack, made five tackles -- three for a loss -- recovered a fumble and hurried Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer into several bad throws. He is the only NFL player to register a sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery and a touchdown reception in the same game since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.

Watt is also the first player to score multiple TDs on offense and defense in the same season since Chicago Bears halfback/defensive back J.C. Caroline accomplished the feat as a rookie in 1956.

Q: Which Gold Jacket lineman had four touchdown receptions during his career? The answer is at the bottom of the page.

Rodgers at Home

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been nearly unstoppable at Lambeau Field. Rodgers completed 22 of 36 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the team’s dominant 53-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers now owns the NFL record for the most consecutive passes without an interception (322) and touchdowns passes at home (29).

The Packers also became the first team in NFL history to score at least 28 points in the first half of four consecutive home games.

Running Downhill

Cincinnati Bengals rookie running back Jeremy Hill returned to his home state of Louisiana and rushed for 152 yards on 27 carries in the Bengals’ 27-10 win against the New Orleans Saints. Hill, who rushed for 154 yards in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, is just the second rookie (Paul Robinson, 1968) in franchise history with two 150-plus-yard rushing games in a single season.

Hill has given the AFC North leading Bengals a boost and leads the team in rushing with 556 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Kicking Consistency

Adam Vinatieri scored eight points (two FGs; two PATs) against the New England Patriots on last night on Sunday Night Football.

Vinatieri has reached the 100-point total this season and became the only player in NFL history to score 100-plus points in 17 different seasons. He now holds the record for most seasons with 100 or more points scored in NFL history breaking a tie with Jason Elam.

Borland’s Two INT Day

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland became the first rookie linebacker in franchise history to pick off two passes in a game.

Borland intercepted Eli Manning’s fourth down pass at the 49ers 2-yard line with 4:43 remaining in the game to help his team defeat the Giants 16-10.

Borland joined Ken Norton, Jr. as the only 49ers linebackers with two interceptions in a game over the past 40 years.

Cardinals Gold Jackets

Gold Jacket and Cardinals legend Aeneas Williams received his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence during halftime of the Arizona and Detroit Lions game. Fellow Hall of Famer Larry Wilson was on hand to show his support. The pair of Gold Jackets joined in the post-game celebration after the Arizona Cardinals win. Watch the video below.
