Preseason 2005

Each year, fans as well as players anxiously await the start of the National Football League season.  But, first there are four weeks of preseason that must be completed.  Over the upcoming weeks, Profootballhof.com takes a glimpse at memorable moments from past preseason games.

Tony Dorsett

Dallas Cowboys’ first round draft pick Tony Dorsett showed a glimpse of what was to come. The future Hall of Fame running back rushed 18 times for 99 yards as the host Cowboys handed the Baltimore Colts a 23-21 loss at Texas Stadium.

Danny White completed 8 of 13 passes for 90 yards and threw one touchdown while also punting five times for 207 yards for a 41.4-yard average.


The Colts were led by quarterback Bert Jones who tossed a pair of first-half touchdown passes – an 18-yarder to Freddie Scott and a 38-yard strike to tight end Raymond Chester.
