Shields, Tingelhoff and Wolf Ready for August

Three members of the Class of 2015 – Will Shields, Mick Tingelhoff and Ron Wolf - visited Canton on Monday in preparation for their August 8 Enshrinement. Tingelhoff and Wolf were accompanied by their wives Phyllis and Edie respectively. The group was also joined by Eileen Polian, the wife of fellow classmate Bill Polian, and as well as team officials from the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.

Their day began at the Canton Civic Center for a site survey where the Class of 2015 will receive their Hall of Fame Gold Jacket. That event, which occurs on the eve of his enshrinement, is televised by NFL Network.

The next stop for the group was at the Hall of Fame, where they were welcomed by staff. The group then toured the museum and enjoyed themselves immensely. Many of the artifacts on display triggered memories from their pro careers.

For Tingelhoff, it was blocking for Gold Jacket quarterback Fran Tarkenton.

For Wolf, it was the history of the Packers and working with former Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

For Shields, it was playing with tight end great Tony Gonzalez.

The Enshrinees enjoyed hearing stories from one another.

Shields and Wolf then spoke to a large gathering at the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club that meets each Monday.

After lunch the group spent the afternoon meeting with Hall of Fame staff and concluded their day with some interviews with media.

Overall the experience was surreal for Shields.
