Here are recaps of several games over the years between the Saints and Jets.

December 3, 1979 - NY JETS 18, New Orleans 17
In the first meeting between the two franchises, the Saints defense kept the Jets offense out of the end zone. This proved no problem for Joe Namath and the Jets as the foot of kicker Bobby Howfield booted six field goals to give the Jets a one point margin of victory when the final gun sounded.  

December 14, 1980 - New Orleans 21, NY JETS 20
Playing through a New York snowstorm, the Saints played the Jets to another one-point game.  New Orleans QB Archie Manning orchestrated a 10 play - 73-yard drive that ended when Tony Galbreath crossed the goal line to tie the game and Benny Ricardo's PAT gave the Saints the winning point.

November 21, 1983 - NY Jets 31, NEW ORLEANS 28
In a thrilling come-from-behind victory, the Jets rallied in the fourth quarter to score 17 unanswered points. With just over two minutes remaining in the game the Saints were forced to punt.  DB Kirk Springs fielded the punt and returned it 76 yards for a touchdown giving the Jets their first and final lead of the game.

October 15, 1990 - NEW ORLEANS 29, Jets 14
Saints kicker Morten Andersen opened up the scoring with a pair of field goals and the Saints never looked back. The New Orleans defense held the Jets to only 251 yards from scrimmage.  New York's 
only points came from the defensive side of the ball. CB James Hasty returned an interception 34 yards for a TD and Safety Erik McMillan scored on a 74-yard fumble recovery.  

December 26, 1992 - NEW ORLEANS 20, NY Jets 0
The Jets were not able to find the end zone as the Saints defense recorded five sacks and three interceptions. Sam Mills opened the scoring for the Saints by returning a fumble 76 yards. New Orleans limited the Jets to only 172 net yards.

November 4, 2001 - NY Jets 16, Saints 9
The New York Jets came out of the gate firing, scoring twice off the foot of John Hall and a 7-yard TD reception by Laveranues Coles. The victory marked the first time the Jets beat the Saints since 1986.
