Bill Walsh began his professional coaching career with the Oakland Raiders in 1966. After one season in Oakland he moved on to Cincinnati where he remained with the Bengals through the 1975 season.
Walsh was given his first head coaching job in 1979 at the age of 47 when the 49ers named him head coach and general manager.
Walsh lead the 49ers to victories in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, and XXIII.
In 10 season with the 49ers Walsh compiled an impressive 102-63-1 record that included 10 playoff victories.
Walsh developed Steve Young and Joe Montana into Hall of Fame quarterbacks while in San Francisco.
Bil Walsh was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 1993. Edward J. DeBartolo, Jr. served as his presenter.
