Sonny Jurgensen was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 4th round of the 1957 draft.
After twice leading the league in passing yardage, Jurgensen was traded to the Washington Redskins in 1964 where he played for the next 11 seasons.
Jurgensen's success continued with the Reskins, where he led the NFL in passing yardage an additional three times.
A superb team leader and a poised pocket passer, Jurgensen surpassed the 3,000-yard mark five times in his career.
Here Jurgensen poses with one of his favorite targets, wide receiver Charley Taylor.
In 1983 Jurgensen was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Here he poses with his presenter Edgar Bennett Williams, the president of the Washington Redskins.
