MelBlountFeature_1050x660

Pittsburgh Steelers legend Mel Blount, a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Black College Football Hall of Fame, joined us on “The Mission” to talk about the football career of Class of 2021 member Bill Nunn.

Blount shared candid insight of Nunn’s scouting style, his words of wisdom shared with players and why he believes Nunn’s hard work is a direct result of “The Rooney Rule.”

From 1969 to 1975, the Steelers drafted 24 players from HBCUs, the most in the history of the National Football League. Learn from Blount as to why Nunn had a direct pulse on the talent pool from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Listen to Blount’s rich stories about Nunn, now a fellow Hall of Famer and a true trailblazer. Fittingly, Nunn will be the first African American in the history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame to be enshrined as a contributor. His lasting legacy will be commemorated in Canton forever.
