Hornung's magical season - in 1960, Hall of Famer Paul Hornung scored a record 176 points for the Green Bay Packers.

Unitas' Record - Johnny U put together a 47-game TD streak which is referred to as pro football's "unbreakable" record.

Tarkenton's Debut - future Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton came off the bench in his pro debut and led the Minnesota Vikings to an upset win over the Chicago Bears in the team's first-ever game.

Shotgun Formation - 49ers head coach Red Hickey introduced the shotgun formation in the early '60s and shocked opponents' defenses.

 Sayers scores 6 - Hall of Famer Gale Sayers scored a record-tying six touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers on December 12, 1965.

Brown walks away - the sports world was rocked during the summer of 1966 when Hall of Fame fullback Jim Brown announced his retirement.

The AFL - the American Football League flourished for 10 seasons, 1960-1969, before merging into the NFL in 1970.
