 Longest FG - Tom Dempsey connected on a 63-yard, game-winning field goal as the New Orleans Saints beat the Detroit Lions in 1970.

 The Longest Day - the longest game ever played took place on Christmas Day, 1971 in a playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.

 Immaculate Reception  – the Pittsburgh Steelers’ incredible finish in the 1972 AFC Divisional Playoff win over the Oakland Raiders will forever be known as the “Immaculate Reception.”

 Csonka and Morris: 1,000-Yard Duo The Miami Dolphins became the first team to feature two 1,000-yard runners in the same season.

Miami's Perfect Season - the 1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0!

Expansion - the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers began play in 1976.

 Harris and Bleier: the Pittsburgh Steelers running backs posted 1,000-yard seasons in 1976.

 1976 AFC Championship Game - for the third straigth season, Pittsburgh and Oakland faced each other in the AFC title game.  This time, the Raiders prevailed.

Payton's record - Walter Payton battled the flu but managed to set the single-game rushing mark (which has since been broken) of 275 yards on Nov. 20, 1977.

 Holy Roller – Hall of Fame tight end Dave Casper was involved in one of the game’s most memorable plays.

 1979 NFC Championship Game - the Rams and Bucs engaged in a defensive battle with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
