In 2007, for the first time ever, seven different NFL quarterbacks passed for 4,000 yards (RELATED STORY:Seven in '07). Apparently that had an effect on team’s running games. For the first time in six seasons since 2001, not one team single season rushing mark fell this past year. LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers added his second straight NFL rushing title in ’07 but did not surpass the club-record of 1,815 yards he gained in 2006.
Currently, the longest standing team season rushing record belongs to the Cleveland Browns. No Browns running back has gained more yards than the 1,863 yards racked by Hall of Famer Jim Brown in 1963.
