New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is one of 16 QBs in NFL history to throw for 500 yards in a game and only the second to accomplish this feat twice. His first 500-yard day came against the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2006 season. Brees completed 40 of his 50 passes for 511 yards and seven touchdowns in his team’s 52-49 victory over the New York Giants in Week 8 of the 2015 NFL Season.

This also marked the seventh time a quarterback has thrown for 500 yards and five or more touchdowns in a game. The only others to do so were Norm Van Brocklin, Y.A. Tittle, Matthew Stafford, Matt Schaub, Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger.

Former Los Angeles Rams great and Hall of Famer Norm Van Brocklin’s 554 yards in the 1951 season opener remains the most passing yards ever in a NFL game.
