THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: Charley Taylor, Class of 1984
The Washington Redskins drafted Charley Taylor in the first round of the 1964 NFL Draft. He started his career at running back before he was switched to wide receiver. An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Charley starred for Washington through the 1977 season at which time he retired as the NFL’s all-time leading receiver with 649 receptions for more than 9,000 yards and 79 touchdowns.
Today, he still lives in the Washington, D.C. area and notes that many of his former teammates also reside in the D.C./Northern Virginia region. In his own words, Charley continues to bleed “burgundy and gold.” He attends as many Redskins games as his schedule permits.
Charley’s “Hall of Fame” picks for Week 11

My team is back playing Redskins football! I like the way Betts went over 100 yards rushing last week against Denver and look for more of the same from him this Sunday.
Bronzed Bust
Washington at Dallas. This is a game you know I’m definitely going to watch. I think the Redskins are going to matchup pretty good with Dallas. Tony Romo is going through a phase and with a quarterback struggling, the Redskins will be ready to go after him. I’d say the Washington defense is going to be fired up.
I also like the Redskins running game. Having Portis out and replaced by a pair of young runners like Ladell Betts and Rock Cartwright will work out well. After all, that’s Redskins football all along, just running the ball and pounding away. I’ve got to go with Washington this weekend.
Gold Jacket
Seattle at Minnesota. Quite simply, I like Brett. I like to see him play. And, as long as he can keep it going like’s been doing, the Vikings are going to be alright. I also happen to think that Adrian Peterson is up for a big day. I look for him to rack up about 200 yards rushing against Seattle. Minnesota’s my pick in this one.
Hall of Fame Ring
Indianapolis at Baltimore. If the Ravens can keep the ball out of Manning’s hands, they might stand a chance. But, I don’t see that happening. Peyton plays with just so much confidence. I think he’s going to run up the score against Baltimore’s pass defense. I like the Colts.
And, here’s who else I like this weekend in the NFL.
I’m going with Carolina over Miami
I’ve got to go with Jacksonville to beat the Bills
This is a tough one but I’m going with Green Bay at home over the 49ers
Take your pick on the Browns vs. Lions but I guess I’ll go with Cleveland
Steelers over the Chiefs
Giants at home against Atlanta
I’m definitely going with the Saints to beat Tampa Bay
I like the Cardinals over the Rams
Denver will win at home against the Chargers
New England won’t go for it on 4th-and-2 but they will beat the Jets
Cincinnati’s on a roll and will take care of Oakland
I’m going with the Eagles over the Bears
and I’m taking Tennessee on the road against Houston on Monday night.
Taylor, Charley

THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: Tony Dorsett, Class of 1994
A Heisman Trophy winner from Pitt, Tony Dorsett was the Cowboys’ first-round draft pick in 1977. He was an instant star. By the time retired after 11 seasons with the Cowboys and one final year in a Denver Broncos uniform, he had rushed for 12,739 yards and also added 398 catches for 3,554 yards. He holds the unbreakable mark of the longest run (99 yards) in NFL history.
Today, Tony is the Vice President of Triton Financial which buys distressed properties and turns them into desirable properties before reselling. He also is in the credit card processing industry. In addition to his post-playing career, Tony has been busy raising his children. In fact, just yesterday his one daughter signed on with a basketball scholarship at Oklahoma State.
Tony remains a big-time Cowboys fan and is a season ticket holder in Dallas.
Tony’s “Hall of Fame” picks of the week.

The Cowboys are right in the thick of things in the NFC. I see them winning Sunday to keep things on a roll.
Dallas at Green Bay. Well obviously, the best game of the week is my Cowboys going up to Green Bay to take on the Packers. One of these two teams are going to be fighting for the top spot in the NFC. I think one of them will be going against New Orleans. I’m taking Dallas this weekend.
Gold Jacket
New England at Indianapolis. This game is going to be a real barn burner. You have two of the best quarterbacks going at it and of course they’ll be a lot of interest in that. In the end, I’m going with Indy.
Hall of Fame Ring
Chicago at San Francisco. I like this game on Thursday night just because of Mike Singletary going up against the team that made him such a great player that he was. There’s going to be a lot of attention on that fact. I think he’s doing a fine job in San Francisco. Both of these teams need to win. I wouldn’t say it’s a “must win” for Chicago or San Fran but it’ll be a big win for one of these teams
Now, let me run down the rest of the games for Week 10. Here’s who I like to come away with wins.
Vikings over Detroit
I’m taking Denver to win in Washington
Steel-town baby! Of course, I’m going with the Steelers over the Bengals.
Atlanta will beat Carolina
Miami in a close one over Tampa Bay
New Orleans keeps it going with a win against the Rams.
This is a tough one but I’ll take Jacksonville to beat the Jets
Tennessee over Buffalo
Hmmm…..okay, I’ll take Kansas City to beat Oakland.
Cardinals over Seattle
Philly in a tight one at San Diego
And, the Ravens on Monday night over the Browns in Cleveland
Dorsett, Tony

THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: Lem Barney, Class of 1992
Lem Barney was a mainstay of the Detroit Lions defense for 11 seasons from 1967-1977. He made an immediate impact with the team during a memorable rookie season that earned him Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Barney intercepted 56 career passes and also starred as a punt and kickoff return man for the Lions.
He still resides in the Detroit area and currently serves as the Director of Positions Recruitment & Relations for Sinai Grace Hospitals. Away from work he remains an avid Lions fans and, in his own words, will remain so “from here to eternity.” On Nov. 22, he will be recognized as part of the charter class of the Pride of the Lions, a new permanent display at Ford Field honoring the greatest players in team history.
Lem’s “Hall of Fame” picks for Week 9
Bronzed Bust
Detroit at Seattle – Even though I’m taking Seattle in this one, I hope the Lions prove me wrong. Winning this game on the road would be a big boost to their season. They’ll show they’re learning to play together in all facets of the game – offense, defense, and special teams. If they prove me wrong this weekend, they’ll be better moving forward for the rest of the season.
1
Things will be pointing in the right direction for my Lions if my prediction for this weekend is wrong!
Gold Jacket
Pittsburgh at Denver – The Steelers have a great coordinator in Dick LeBeau who is up for the Hall of Fame this year. All he knows is football, 52 years involved in the game. I’m going with the team in the gold uniforms, the Steelers.
Hall of Fame Ring
Washington at Atlanta – Again, this is a game that a team can prove me wrong. The Redskins are going through a tough season right now and have an ominous task of heading into Atlanta and trying to beat the Falcons. Hopefully, for their sake, they prove me wrong but I don’t think so. I’m picking Atlanta.
Here’s who else I think will win in Week 9 around the National Football League.
Ravens will continue on a roll. Baltimore will win at Cincinnati
Colts over Houston
Green Bay will win at Tampa
The Bears at home over the Cardinals
Jacksonville over Kansas City
The Patriots will beat Miami
The Saints are hot. I like New Orleans against Carolina
49ers over Tennessee
Giants will win at home versus the Chargers
I’m taking the Cowboys over the Eagles
Barney, Lem

THIS WEEK’S HALL OF FAMER: JOE DeLAMIELLURE, Class of 2003
A former first round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills in 1973, Joe DeLamielleure became one of the most dominating guards of all-time during his career with Buffalo (1973-79, 1985) and the Cleveland Browns (1980-84). He was named All-Pro six straight seasons and also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1970s.
Today, he remains involved with the Bills through his association with the Seneca-Niagara Casino. He hosts a booth at every Bills home game at Ralph Wilson Stadium and will be on hand Sunday for the Bills-Texans game. On Monday, he flies down to Mexico to finish a piece that CBS is doing for its Super Bowl show about how Joe and two college teammates biked last fall from East Lansing, Michigan to Mexico to raise money for an orphanage. He blogged his trip on Profootballhof.com. Read Joe’s travel blog.
And now, here is….
Joe’s “Hall of Fame” picks of the week.
Bronzed Bust
Minnesota at Green Bay. I really like Brett Favre. I get a kick out of how everyone was criticizing Brett for coming out of retirement. I think any player who can still be playing like he’s playing would do the same thing. I’ve been kind of pulling for that guy. I can’t think of a single player from my era who I’ve talked to that wouldn’t want to be a teammate of Brett Favre. But, as much I’m hoping he wins, I’m going with Green Bay at home Sunday.
1
I'd take Brett Favre as a teammate any day!
Gold Jacket
Denver at Baltimore. We will see just how good Denver is offensively against the Ravens defense. It’ll be an interesting game for sure. I really like Joe Flacco. I’m also a big fan of Ray Rice. He’s a tough kid and also catches the ball real well. He’s a type of runner that reminds me of Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, and Gregg Pruitt. I kind of like favorite players in the NFL today and really like a guy like Rice. I’m taking the Ravens.
Hall of Fame Ring
Atlanta at New Orleans. Everyone’s hyped up about the Saints. But, I think Atlanta is going to beat them. The Falcons have a better defense and I really like Matt Ryan at quarterback. He’s a Boston College product so he must be a good Catholic kid! Like I said, I’m going with Matt and the Falcons.
As for the other games of the weekend, here’s my rundown.
The Giants will beat the Eagles
Jets over the Dolphins
Colts at home over San Francisco
A tough one but I like Detroit over the Rams
Seattle will win in Dallas
Buffalo over Houston
The Bears will win against Cleveland
San Diego over Oakland
The Jaguars will take care of Tennessee
Arizona over Carolina
