LeSean McCoy became the first Philadelphia Eagles running back since Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren in 1949 to win a NFL rushing crown. McCoy topped all runners in 2013 with 1,607 yards which also established a new Eagles single-season  rushing mark.

The team record had been held since 1979 by Wilbert Montgomery (1,512 yards). McCoy’s yardage total also included the best single-game total in his team’s history (Related story: Single-game rushing records by team) when he rushed for 217 yards in Week 14.

The Eagles record was the only team single-season rushing mark to fall in 2013. Currently, the longest standing team season rushing record belongs to the Cleveland Browns. No Browns running back has gained more yards than the 1,863 yards racked up by Hall of Famer Jim Brown in 1963. Here is a team-by-team look at season rushing record holders.
