Maurice Jones-Drew
|
Maurice Jones-Drew not only won the NFL rushing title in 2011 but set a franchise record at the same time. He finished the season with 1,606 yards gained on 343 carries to break the Jacksonville Jaguars single-season record set by Fred Taylor in 2003 when he rushed for 1,572 yards.
The Jags single-season rushing record is the only team rushing mark to fall during the past season. Currently, the longest standing team season rushing record belongs to the Cleveland Browns. No Browns running back has gained more yards than the 1,863 yards racked up by Hall of Famer Jim Brown in 1963.
Here is a team-by-team look at season rushing record holders.
