The Haggar Gold Jacket Report is a weekly update on recent news surrounding the very select group of men who’ve earned a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
It was six years ago that EMMITT SMITH stepped back into the national spotlight when he starred on Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars. Along with Professional dancer Cheryl Burke, Smith won the competition and took home the coveted disco ball trophy.
"I am so proud of this trophy and I am proud to share it with Cheryl," Smith explained after the season finale. "We worked our tails off."
Now, Smith and Burke step back on the dance floor beginning Sept. 24 when they defend their crown on Dancing with the Stars All-Stars. Their competition this season includes Melissa Rycroft as well as Joey Fatone, Pamela Anderson, Kirstie Alley, Bristol Palin among others.
“Everyone is really good. I’m just happy Emmitt is the only football player on the show,” Burke revealed. “You have Apolo [Ohno], who is loved by everybody, Shawn [Johnson], and you have other sports players on the show, so I think it’s going to be between them.”
Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback JOE NAMATH hit the links on Thursday, Sept. 13, to help raise money for the March of Dimes, by hosting a Celebrity Golf Classic.
The Tournament took place at the historic Bethpage State Park course in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Joe Namath – March of Dimes Celebrity Golf Classic is the largest and most successful tournament in the country for the March of Dimes.
