Tingelhoff Day

Former Minnesota Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 8 and the celebration has already begun. Tingelhoff was honored in his hometown of Lexington, Nebraska as part of “Mick Tingelhoff Day” on July 18. A large crowd that included family, friends and members of the community welcomed the football legend. Tingelhoff also presented a golden football to his high school and received a key to the city of Lexington.
 
 

Bettis HOF Crunch

A new cereal was introduced yesterday to the market called “Bettis HOF Crunch” named after the legendary running back and member of the Class of 2015 Jerome Bettis. The box has a photo of Bettis during his Steelers playing days and the Hall of Fame logo to honor his enshrinement on Aug. 8. Proceeds benefit his Bus Stops Here Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the overall quality of life for troubled and underprivileged inner-city youth.
 

Group of HOFers Compete in Celeb Golf Tournament

A group of Hall of Famers competed in the celebrity American Century Championship golf tournament on July 17-19 at the Edgewood Golf Club. The Hall of Famers that competed include Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, John Elway, Marshall Faulk, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Steve Young. They were joined by current and former athletes from different sports, musicians and actors. Elway finished seventh overall, the highest of the Hall of Famers.
