Humphrey visits Hall of Fame

Enshrinement Published on : 4/5/2014
{GALLERY}Class of 2014 enshrinee Claude Humphrey is the latest member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame to visit Canton. The former defensive end was in town to prepare for his upcoming Enshrinement in August.

Upon arrival, Humphrey received a guided tour of the museum. During his visit the former Defensive Rookie of the Year relived his playing days and shared stories from his past. At one point he stopped in front of Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas’ jersey and smiled and exclaimed “I got my hands on him!”

Humphrey’s visit was one that he will never forget.

“It was a great experience for me because I learned a lot about football that I didn’t know. I didn’t realize that people really worked hard at this game to make the game what it is. I’ll take this experience home with me and cherish the memories.”

Humphrey and his fellow Class of 2014 enshrinees – Derrick Brooks, Ray Guy, Walter Jones, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams – will be formally enshrined into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
