It has been a busy summer for Hall of Fame running back EARL CAMPBELL. He is not only working with former HBO Sports President Ross Greenburg to create a documentary about his life which will air in December, but he also just finished hosting a football camp at Conroe High School this past Saturday.

In addition to Campbell, fellow Hall of Famer TONY DORSETT as well as former NFL running back Eric Metcalf were also involved in the camp. The Earl Campbell Football Camp which was held at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium was free of charge and stressed the fundamentals of sportsmanship and life skills through youth football.

Campbell also held a meet and greet autograph session at Chofa’s Sports Bar and Grill after the event. Most guests didn’t have to look very far to find something for him to sign since he was featured on the cover of the most recent Sports Illustrated magazine.

Speaking of golf, Hall of Fame tight end CHARLIE SANDERS is hosting his own golf tournament called Have a Heart – Save a Life Charity Golf Outing on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Knollwood Country Club in West Bloomfield, Mi. The proceeds from this event each year go to support the Charlie Sanders Scholarship Foundation which seeks to make a difference in the lives of children.

This year the Charlie Sanders Scholarship Foundation will donate the money generated from the golf outing to the Healthy Heart Check Program at the Beaumont Hospital. The program is designed to prevent sudden death in children due to cardiac arrest from abnormal heart structure or abnormal rhythms by providing regular screenings.

Participants will be able to golf with the likes of Hall of Famer LEM BARNEY, former Detroit Lions players Lomas Brown and Herman Moore and even Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo. Once play concludes, everyone will gather in the clubhouse for a well-deserved dinner, silent auction and awards ceremony.
