The book follows Football Freddie and her trusty companion, Fumble the Dog, along with their friends Marion (named after Pro Football Hall of Famer Marion Motley) and Goldy the G.O.A.T., around the historic city of Canton, Ohio. The group visits historic landmarks, from the First Ladies National Historic Site to the McKinley Museum, to name a few, and ends their trip exploring all the events during Enshrinement Week at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“Today, my new children's book, ‘Football Freddie & Fumble the Dog, Gameday in Canton,’ joins the hallowed halls of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where legends of the game are enshrined,” Schneider said. “Just like the players whose stories are immortalized here, my book carries a message of the power of football, teamwork and determination.”

“Football Freddie & Fumble the Dog, Gameday in Canton” is available for pre-order, here, and will be available for purchase at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Store soon.

To date, Schneider has authored nine children’s books in the “Gameday in the USA” series, all of which connect to cities that are home to NFL Clubs. She combines the inspiration from her family, which has strong ties to the NFL, with an unrelenting passion for the sports industry behind the stories for each novel.

Schneider’s grandfather, Leonard Tose, was the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1969 to 1985. Her mother, Susan Tose Spencer, became the first female general manager of an NFL Club, spearheading the Eagles’ front office from 1982-85.

A native of Philadelphia, Schneider hopes to take young readers on a tour of each city with a special friend where they celebrate civic pride, learn local history, visit landmarks and immerse themselves in regional culture.

“I use a lot of sports metaphors,” Schneider said, “but what I love about football is that, like life, you have to keep moving the ball down the field.”

A meet-and-greet with Schneider will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 3 at Stark Library’s Main Library, 715 Market Ave. N, in Canton. For more information and to register, click here.
