Leroy Kelly replaced the legendary Jim Brown in Cleveland’s backfield and rushed for 1,000 yards in three straight years after becoming the team’s regular running back. He was the Browns’ leading rusher in seven straights seasons that included back-to-back NFL rushing titles in 1967 and 1968. Kelly, who was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994, amassed more than 12,000 combined yards and scored 90 touchdowns.
Guard Al Jenkins was drafted in the third round of the 1969 draft and spent his first two NFL seasons with the Browns. He was also a member of the 1972 Miami Dolphins undefeated team before finishing his NFL career with the Houston Oilers in 1973.
Running back Greg Pruitt was drafted by the Browns in the second round of the 1973 NFL Draft. He led the team in rushing five straight times during his nine years with Cleveland and recorded three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 1975-77. He finished his career with three seasons as a member of the Los Angeles Raiders.
