"A Football Life" - Curtis Martin
Guests visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday (Sept. 17) will be treated to a special screening of the NFL Network series “A Football Life.” This week’s episode profiles the life and career of CURTIS MARTIN. The film is a one-hour documentary produced by NFL Films telling the story of the Hall of Fame running back through unprecedented access.
“A Football Life: Curtis Martin” will be shown continuously from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Hall of Fame. This will be the first screening of many this year as the Hall will show the entire sixth season of the popular series at the museum throughout the NFL season.
Martin was enshrined into the Hall of Fame in 2012. He retired after the 2005 season as the fourth leading rusher of all-time 14,101 yards. He also was only the second player in NFL history to start his career with 10 straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
Additionally, Martin still holds numerous records for the New York Jets including the most career rushing yards with 10,030 and the most rushing yards in a single season, (1,697 yards in 2004).
This season’s episodes of “A Football Life” will profile various Pro Football Hall of Famers including two Class of 2016 enshrinees, as well as numerous Legends of the Game. The series tells the stories of how the legacy of each of these players and coaches will be forever be intertwined in the fabric of the Game’s history. The series aligns with the Hall of Fame’s mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values, & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE.”
