The 2014 NFL season showcased eleven quarterbacks who surpassed 4,000-yards passing. Sharing the top spot were New Orleans Saints signal-caller Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who both registered 4,952 yards. Brees, however, bested his counterpart by one passing touchdown (33-32)
Peyton Manning again cracked the list and further extended his NFL record for most 4,000-yard seasons (14). The Broncos quarterback remains the only player in NFL history with 10 or more 4,000-yard seasons. This year’s 2014 group also consists of six former Super Bowl MVPs, the most since the 2009 season.
Ryan Tannehill became the only new addition to the prestigious 4,000-yard passing club in 2014. Tannehill is the first Dolphins passer since Gold Jacket Dan Marino (1994) to reach the prestigious mark.

Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath of the New York Jets was the first quarterback in pro football history to throw for 4,000 yards in a season when he accumulated 4,007 yards in 1967.
