Pro Football Hall of Fame Adds Four To Board of Trustees
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Trustees has approved the addition of four new trustees, Board Chairman John Muhlbach, Jr. announced today. The new trustees are Ted Boyd, Randy Hunt, Tom Schervish, and Gary Smith.
Boyd, a longtime Canton resident and Chairman of the Beaverkettle Company, was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bethany College and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Cleveland State University. Prior to accepting the chairmanship of the Beaverkettle Company, Boyd served as a General Partner of the Willmoll Development Company, Chairman of Skylan, LTD, and Director of FinCom Corporation.
Well known for his community involvement, Boyd has been active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. He currently serves on several local boards including the Stark Development Board, Aultman Health Foundation, Capital Campaigns Committee, Stark Education Partnership, Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium, and the Stark County Port Authority.
Boyd and his wife Donna are the parents of three sons, William, Jabez, and Benjamin.
Hunt, an attorney with Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A., earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Union College and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
>An Alliance, Ohio native Hunt first joined Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty, as an associate in 1982. In 1984 he was named a Director and in 1990 was named Managing Director. He is an active member of the county, state, and national Bar Associations and currently serves on the Stark County Bar Association's Corporate Law and Real Estate Committees.
Also active in the community, Hunt serves on several local boards including the Board of Trustees of Mount Union College, Alliance City Hospital, Greater Alliance Development Corporation, Stark Development Board of Trustees, and Stark State College Board of Trustees.
He and his wife Ann Marie are the parents of two sons, Christopher and Matthew, and a daughter Stephanie.
Schervish, a native of Detroit, Michigan, is the Owner and President of Stark Management Services. He is a graduate of the University of Detroit where he earned a Bachelor Science Degree in Marketing. Schervish also has business affiliations with Brewster Dairy, Center Ice Sports, Inc., Deckare Inc., Ohio Legacy Bank, and P.H.T. & Assocaites, and is a partner in two area restaurants.
Active in civic and charitable organizations in the Canton/Stark County community, Shervish serves on several boards and various committees for such organizations as the Canton District Y.M.C.A. Health Club, the Downtown Canton Land Foundation, the Greater Canton Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Neighborhood Action Program, Stark County Citizens Council for Non-Violence, and the Stark Development Board.
Schervich, who this year was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Human Services by Walsh University, resides in Canton with his wife Angela. They are the parents of two children, Tommy and Amanda.
Smith, President and CEO of High Plains Corporation, was the former President of both Signa StorTech Systems, Inc. and Hercules Engines.
A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Smith entered the school on a football and track scholarship, but also excelled as a wrestler, winning three NIC conference championships and the 1963 and 1964 NAIA 191-pound championships. In 1964 he competed in the Final Olympic Trials in New York City, placing fourth.
An active member of his community, Smith has served on the boards of the Y.M.C.A., United Way, Development Corporation, and Junior Achievement. He has served as the Chairman of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and has been an active member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Committee. Smith and his wife Jan have four children.
