Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of Democratic Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards, made a surprise visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

Mrs. Edwards was en route fromYoungstown, Ohio to Canton for a speaking engagement when her schedule permitted a brief stop at the football shrine.  An avid football fan, she vowed to return after a whirlwind tour of the museum only permitted her to "whet her appetite."

After touring the exhibits, she stopped in the museum store to buy some gifts for her children.   She purchased a Hall of Fame jersey for her four-year-old son Jack.  Then, unable to find the correct sized Dolphins apparel for her daughter Emma Claire, 6, she opted for a New England Patriots dress.

Edwards was given a tour by the Hall's VP Joe Horrigan.
"I'll make John Kerry happy," she stated in reference to her daughter's gift.

Edwards' visit to the Hall was preceded by Kerry, the Democratic Presidential nominee and Massachusetts Senator, who came to the Hall of Fame in late June.  Vice President Dick Cheney was also a recent visitor when he toured the Hall in July.
