Favre extends TD streak
Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre extended his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass to 31 during the NFL's Week 6 action.
The 14-year veteran connected on a pair of TD passes in the Packers win over the Lions in Detroit on Sunday. In doing so, he surpassed Dan Marino (30 games) and trails only the legendary Johnny Unitas.
Unitas holds what is commonly referred to as pro foobtall's "unbreakable record" of 47 straight games with a touchdown pass. The streak extended from 1956-1960.
Marino's 30-game streak took place over the 1985-1987 seasons. Favre passed Dave Krieg's total of 28 consecutive games (with Seattle from 1983-1985) earlier this season.
