It
was only fitting that in his final regular season game of his career,
that Roger Staubach led the Cowboys to a fourth quarter comeback.
Roger "the Dodger" gained great fame with his many exciting
comebacks throughout his Hall of Fame career.
In the
1979 regular season finale, Staubach hit Tony Hill with an eight-yard
touchdown pass with 39 seconds remaining to give the Cowboys the NFC
East crown and eliminate the Redskins from the playoff race.
Staubach,
who completed 24 of 42 passes for 336 yards, threw two scoring passes
in the final four minutes to bring the Cowboys back from a 34-21
deficit.
