Vick's QB rushing mark
Michael Vick of the Atlanta Falcons rushed for a quarterback record 173 yards in the Falcons' 30-24 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings on December 1, 2002. He capped the day with his second rushing touchdown of the game that came on an incredible 46-yard run in the sudden-death period. That was the longest TD run ever by a quarterback in overtime.
Vick, in his second NFL season at the time, also eclipsed the league mark held by Hall of Famer Marion Motley. By amassing his record total on just 10 carries, Vick's single-game average of 17.3 yards-per-carry (minimum 10 carries) topped that of Motley's 17.09 average. The Browns fullback rushed for 188 yards on 11 carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 29, 1950.
The shoes that Vick wore during that historical moment are preserved in the archives at the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
