Two Dayton area youth teams unveiled the historical marker on Saturday.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame took part in a special ceremony this past Saturday (April 30, 2005) recognizing the site of the National Football League’s first game.

Jason Aikens, the Hall’s Collections Curator, was one of several featured speakers for the unveiling of a new Ohio Historical Society’s historical marker in Triangle Park in Dayton, Ohio.

Triangle Park was the site of the first football game between two NFL (then known as the American Professional Football Association) teams.

The Dayton Triangles shutout the Columbus Panhandles, 14-0, in the historic game played on October 3, 1920. Many relatives of players from the 1920 Triangles were on hand for the ceremony on Saturday.
