HIDDEN TREASURES
The Pro Football Hall of Fame's archives is home to the vast majority of the museum’s collection with approximately 90 percent of the mementos housed in this area.
"The archives is actually the ideal place for these items from a preservation aspect," commented Jason Aikens, the Hall’s collections curator. "In reality, the best thing for our mementos is for them not to see the light of day. But, nobody learns anything from them unless we share them with the public."

This document is one of thousands that are part of the George Allen collection donated to the Hall of Fame by Allen's widow, Etty. Allen was a meticulous record keeper and saved much of his correspondence over the years. This letter from fellow Hall of Fame coach Hank Stram was written shortly after the Kansas City Chiefs' upset win in Super Bowl IV. |
