Ball from historic Mexico City game arrives in Canton
The football used on the opening kickoff of Sunday night’s historic game between the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers has arrived in Canton and was placed on exhibit.
Sunday’s game played at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium marked the National Football League’s first regular season game ever played outside of the United States.
In addition, the game set a new attendance record for an NFL regular season game. A crowd of 103,467 were on hand to watch the Cardinals defeat the 49ers, 31-14 ( NFL.com: Game recap ).
