HIDDEN TREASURES

The Pro Football Hall of Fame's archives is home to the vast majority of the museum’s collection with approximately 90 percent of the mementos housed in this area.

"The archives is actually the ideal place for these items from a preservation aspect," commented Jason Aikens, the Hall’s collections curator. "In reality, the best thing for our mementos is for them not to see the light of day. But, nobody learns anything from them unless we share them with the public."

ITEM: White low-cut Nike shoes. DESCRIPTION: Shoes worn by Freeman McNeil of the New York Jets during the 1992 season. ACQUIRED: December 9, 1994 DONOR: New York Jets
	Jets RB Freeman McNeil wore these shoes in his final season with the team. McNeil was drafted in the first round by the Jets in 1981 and played 12 seasons with the team. During his career McNeil rushed for 8,047 yards and 38 TDs and added another 2,961 yards and 50 TDs through the air.
