Fathers, sons and daughters benefited from a special event at the Pro Football Hall of Fame & Fawcett Stadium over Father’s Day weekend. The “All Pro Dads Father and Kids Experience” was hosted by Pro Football Hall of Famer and All Pro Dad Spokesman Anthony Muñoz. In spite of the rain, families enjoyed the time with their children and the chance to make memories with one another.

"There were a lot of fathers and their children engaging in activities with their kids and trying to get reconnected with them," said Martin Ross of Cleveland.

Muñoz said it was a privilege to host the event.

"We all need encouragement to be fathers. I think things we do for a living take a lot of energy. We need to encourage one another to be our best at home," said Muñoz.

"I get energy and enthusiasm from hanging out with other fathers and watching them interact with other children," added Muñoz. "It's a source of inspiration for me."

The dads in attendance said they were happy to get some quality time with their children.

"You find out in your work schedule during the week, you don't have time to spend time with them. This is something where, I saw it on the All Pro Dad website and I thought, you know, I can take a couple hours and go do it with them," said Ed Richards, of Massillon, Ohio.

Founded by Family First, the All Pro Dad fatherhood program helps to educate fathers on the best ways to become an “All Pro Dad.”  Fathers brought their children to the event, where they learned fatherhood tips and participated in special activities with their kids, while rotating through football-themed learning stations at Fawcett Stadium.

"Thousands of men in Ohio and around the world are becoming better husbands and fathers by joining our All Pro Dad team,” said Muñoz. “To become an All Pro Dad, we encourage men to spend one minute a day reading our free daily email, The Play of the Day, one hour a month participating in an All Pro Dad's Day breakfast, and one day a year taking part in our All Pro Dad Father and Kids Experience."

“This was a terrific event and we look forward to coming back again next year, “said Steven Wright, of Louisville, Ohio.

Thanks are due once again to the event sponsors: hhgregg, Aultman Health Foundation, Wal-Mart, U.S. Army, USA Football, Time Warner Cable, News-Talk 1480 WHBC, Mix 94.1 and Akron Beacon Journal, Chick-fil-A and Pepsi.

To celebrate the bond with fathers and their children, the Hall of Fame will host an “All Pro Dads Father and Kids Experience” annually. Next year’s event is scheduled for June 20, 2009.
