Pro Football Hall of Fame adds two to Board of Trustees
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Trustees has approved the addition of two new trustees, Board Chairman Tom Schervish announced. The new trustees are Joseph R. Halter, Jr. and Edward J. Roth III.
Joe Halter, a native of Stark County, Ohio is President and CEO of Solmet Technologies,
a Canton, Ohio based manufacturer of commercial open-die steel forgings serving the energy, fluid power, transportation and metals fields among others.
Halter, a graduate of Ohio University, has served in a leadership role with several community organizations including the Board of Trustees for Goodwill Industries of East Central Ohio and the Board of Directors for Arts in Stark, Stark County’s Arts Council for which was Chairman from 2004 until 2006. He served on the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors from 2001 to 2007, serving as Chairman in 2006. A longtime member of the Rotary Club of Canton, he served on the organization’s Board of Trustees and is a past president.
Halter is currently a member of the Stark Development Board and for the last two years has been the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee Chairman. He is also a member of the Aultman Health Foundation Board of Directors and currently serves as the Foundation’s Second Vice Chair.
Ed Roth is President and CEO of Aultman Health Foundation and Aultman Hospital, a position he has held since 2001. A graduate of the University of Akron, his healthcare experience at Aultman Hospital began in 1981. Over the past 28 years he has worked for Aultman Health Foundation in a variety of management and leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer of Aultman Hospital. As President and CEO he is responsible for over 5,000 associates and all corporate entities within Aultman Health Foundation.
Roth too is very involved with many facets of the local community. He serves as a board member on the Central Catholic High School Advisory Board, First Merit Advisory Board, Junior Achievement Advisory Board, Meyers Lake YMCA, Ohio Business Roundtable, Ohio Hospital Association, Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), Stark Development Board and Walsh University.
