Did you know?
The Texans made good use of their second-round pick in 2007. Houston shipped the draft choice to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for QB Matt Schaub. The Falcons used the choice on Texas tackle Justin Blalock while Schaub became the Texans starter and has passed for 3,000 yards three straight years including back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons in 2009 and 2010.Quotable:
"Johnson gives us a big-play player, which I think will help the other players. Any time you have a player of Andre's caliber; it brings up the level of the other guys. It makes the whole operation run smoother."
Texans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer had that to say about Andre Johnson after he was taken as the third player overall in the 2003 NFL Draft. Since that time, Johnson had helped the Texans offense run smoother as he's become one of the NFL's marquee receivers. He has amassed 673 receptions for 9,164 yards and 50 TDs in his eight seasons as a pro.

Who in '11?
Post your comment about who you think Texans will take in the first round this year. Why?
Backdraft: Dallas Cowboys
No. 9. Dallas Cowboys. Twice the Cowboys worked trades to get the first overall pick. But, perhaps their most famous draft day magic came in 1977 when they traded up to No. 2 and grabbed Heisman Trophy winner Tony Dorsett.
Backdraft: Minnesota Vikings
No. 12. Minnesota Vikings. The Fran Tarkenton trade landed the Vikings the first overall pick in 1968. They used it to pick future HOF tackle Ron Yary.
