Martin’s career on display
Hall of Famers
Published on : 6/22/2012
Class of 2012 enshrinee Curtis Martin recently sent a large collection of memorabilia to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Included among the mementos were helmets and jerseys the running back wore during his college playing days at the University of Pittsburgh and during his NFL career with the New England Patriots and New York Jets. Martin also sent a personal artifact along with the football mementos. The Bible from which Martin drew constant inspiration throughout his football career is now also part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s collection.
{GALLERY}In early February Martin became just the fifth long-time member of the Jets franchise and the 29th modern-era running back to be elected to the Hall of Fame. He, and the rest of the Class of 2012 – Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, and Willie Roaf – will be formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 4.
Martin’s memorabilia is being placed on display in a special exhibit featuring the Class of 2012 and the two participating teams in this year’s Hall of Fame Game, the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints.
