After nearly a half century of millions of fans entering the Pro Football Hall of Fame through an entrance inside the iconic dome shaped building, the museum’s new grand entrance was opened this morning. The first visitor ever to enter the Hall of Fame through the new grand lobby was 16-year-old Jacob Dennis of Salisbury, Md.
{GALLERY} Dennis, who was dressed in a Washington Redskins Chris Cooley jersey, was making his first trip to the Hall of Fame as part of his birthday celebration. He turned 16 last month. He was joined by his step-father Kevin Presto, a Baltimore Ravens fans, and his uncle James Upton, who is an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.
The museum entrance was relocated to the center of the building as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s “Future 50” Expansion & Renovation Project. The first phase of the two-year project is nearly complete as the busy travel season begins. The second phase of the $27 million project will start following the 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival.
