NFL first marked with whistle and hat

Shannon Eastin became the first woman to work as on-field official in a National Football League game during a preseason game in San Diego on Thursday, Aug. 9. She served as the line judge during the contest won by the Chargers.
Eastin’s hat and her whistle from the game were sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame where they will be placed on exhibit in the near future.
