The sixth annual HALLoween Family Fun Day took place at the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Transformed with numerous Halloween decorations, the museum had 20 stations for the kids to trick-or-treat.
A crowd of nearly 800 people donated two non-perishable items per person to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank to receive a special admission price.
Each kid, dressed in their favorite costumes, received a trick-or-treat bag as they entered the Hall of Fame to enable them to collect numerous types of Hersheys candy and Halloween treats. Kids also participated in a football scavenger hunt as they made their way throughout the museum for a chance to win a birthday party at the Hall.
Trick-or-treaters made crafts, played games and enjoyed Halloween movies with complimentary popcorn and cotton candy in the Hall’s new Event Center. Kids also picked out a balloon at the balloon artist station and enjoyed getting their faces painted by students from Timken High School.
Chick-fil-A was on hand with breakfast and lunch food for guests. The Farm at Walnut Creek brought a petting zoo with a camel, goats, sheep, birds and other animals for kids to feed and enjoy. They also had pumpkins, mums, cornstalks, gourds and other fall decorations available for purchase and small pumpkins to paint. Mix 94.1 provided trick-or-treaters with another station and a chance to win a Kindle.
Several mascots from the surrounding area were in attendance for picture opportunities and to interact with the kids. Freddie LaFever from Aultman Health Foundation, Chick-fil-A cow, Pigskin from the Canton/Stark County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Oakland Raiders’ ultimate fan, Crusher, were all in attendance.
Next year, the seventh annual HALLoween Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.
