As luck would have it, it did not take long for the National Football League’s first overall pick from last April’s draft to find his way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Andrew Luck joined all other AFC rookies for a special tour of the Hall of Fame in June as part of the NFL’s annual rookie symposium.
The Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback was humbled by the experience of the visit. It wouldn’t take long, however, for him to find a place in the museum. On Wednesday morning, the jersey he wore last Sunday during the Colts’ 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins arrived at the Hall of Fame.
Luck wore the jersey in the Week 9 victory as he completed 30 of 48 passes for 433 yards and 2 TDs. His passing yardage established a new rookie record that surpassed, by one yard, the record set last season by Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers.
His passing total also marked the fourth time this season that Luck has thrown for 300 yards in a game which tied the NFL rookie record set by Peyton Manning for the Colts in 1998. Luck is on pace to set numerous league rookie passing marks including most completions, yards, and attempts.
Luck’s jersey will be placed on display in the Hall of Fame’s Pro Football Today Gallery.
