Vikings history preserved
The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently received a piece of Minnesota Vikings history. Team officials donated a seatback from Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome that will forever be preserved in the Hall’s archive. The Metrodome was demolished this past winter to make room for a new stadium.
The Metrodome opened its doors in 1982. In addition to being the home of the Vikings through 2013, the Metrodome also hosted the Minnesota Twins until 2010, two NCAA Men’s Final Fours, Super Bowl XXVI, a Major League Baseball All-Star Game and two World Series.
