Gates passes "Bambi"

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates made history during the team’s Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos.

He has amassed 9,610 receiving yards during 12 seasons with the Chargers to surpass Gold Jacket Lance Alworth as the franchise's all-time receptions leader.

Stafford's Stats aren't Lion

The Detroit Lions overcame a 21-point deficit against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday for their second straight comeback victory this season. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford led the charge and became one of three quarterbacks (Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe) to start three games in which their teams overcame a deficit of at least 21 points and won.

Stafford completed 24 of his 47 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns. In doing so, he surpassed Hall of Famer Bobby Layne for the most touchdown passes in franchise history.

Home-Field Advantage

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been nearly unstoppable at home. In his 100th career start at home, Brady led his team to their sixth victory of the season on Sunday.

That victory gave Brady his 87th win at home, which is the most of any starting quarterback in NFL history in the first 100 regular-season home starts. He also has the highest winning percentage at home of any starting quarterback since the AFL-NFL merger (.870).

Historic Passing

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is one of 15 quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for 500 yards in a game and the only player to accomplish this feat twice. Roethlisberger completed 40 of his 49 passes for 522 yards and six touchdowns in his team’s 51-34 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.

The Steelers and Colts combined for 907 yards passing which are the second most ever in a single game, trailing only the 971 yards rack up by the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers on Jan. 1, 2012.

Steelers tight end Heath Miller caught six passes for 112 yards and a touchdown joining John Stallworth and Hines Ward as the only players in team history with 500 career receptions.

Stacking up the Ws

The Houston Texans won their 200th game in franchise history this Sunday with a victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Texans first regular season victory was a 19-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 8, 2002.

During the Texans victory, Ryan Fitzpatrick became the 41st quarterback in NFL history with 1,500 career rushing yards.
