History Favors Seahawks in SB XLIX Matchup
The Seattle Seahawks will defend their Super Bowl title against the New England Patriots after rallying past the Green Bay Packers 28-22 on Sunday.
If history is an indicator of which team will win Super Bowl XLIX, the odds favor Seattle.
Eight teams in NFL history have successfully won back-to-back Super Bowls, including the Pittsburgh Steelers who did it twice in franchise history.
The Washington Redskins (won SB XVII, lost XVIII) and the Green Bay Packers (won SB XXXI, lost SB XXXII) are the only two teams unable to repeat after returning to the Super Bowl following their previous championship.
