Earl Campbell Teams Up With Son to Fight MS

Tyler Campbell, son of Gold Jacket and legendary Houston Oilers running back Earl Campbell, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007 while playing football at San Diego State. Ultimately, the disease prevented Tyler from taking the next step into the NFL, but it didn’t crush his spirit. In fact, he views it as a blessing because of the relationship he strengthened with his father and the awareness and funds the two have raised to help others with MS.
 
Tyler struggled to manage the disease at first, but with help from his father that has changed. Earl, who also deals with physical issues, participated in joint physical therapy sessions with his son that helped them develop a very unique and special bond.
 
They have also been working together to help others with MS by raising money for scholarships.  Tyler, who is now a successful businessman, husband and father, serves as an MS Ambassador for the National MS Society. Earl continues to help his son with different events including their biggest fundraiser, the Flavors of Austin event, which is now in its fifth year.
 
The event raises awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis while showcasing the amazing cuisine and talented chefs for which the city has become known. Additionally, Gold Jackets Tony Dorsett, Joe Greene and Randall McDaniel will be in attendance to lend their support for the National MS Society’s goal of changing the world for everyone affected by MS.
 
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 5 at the Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin Downtown in Austin, Texas. Tickets for this great event can be purchased here>>>
