Cris Carter Mentors Laquon Treadwell

It must have been destiny for wide receiver Laquon Treadwell to be drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2016 NFL Draft. Treadwell's mentor, Gold Jacket and legendary wide receiver Cris Carter, played 12 of his 16 NFL seasons for the Vikings. Now the pair will have plenty of time to work together on the field and strengthen their relationship.

Treadwell reached out to Carter during his last season with Ole Miss to receive advice about football. Treadwell then signed with the same agency that represents Carter and the two worked out together in Florida over the spring as Treadwell prepares for his first NFL season.

"It was great," Treadwell told ESPN.com. "I actually enjoyed it. He has so much knowledge on the game that I didn’t know was even possible, the things he was teaching me, from stretching your hands to [gaining] separation [from defenders]. I’m just looking forward to working with him in the future and continuing to build our relationship."

Carter will continue to mentor the young receiver as Treadwell begins his NFL journey.
