John Elway Excited for New Quarterback
It will be tough for any quarterback to play for the Denver Broncos this season, especially when the Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager is a Hall of Fame quarterback and you have to fill the shoes of a future Hall of Famer. That’s the expectation former University of Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch will have to live up to. But at least he has the support of Gold Jacket John Elway.
Elway and staff drafted the team’s future franchise quarterback in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The former Broncos quarterback has so much faith in his rookie quarterback, he traded up just to draft him.
“We’re extremely excited,” Elway said about drafting Lynch. “He’s a big, athletic, strong young guy that fits us perfectly.”
Lynch may not see the field during his rookie year, but he’ll have the personnel around him to develop into a solid quarterback.
“I understand the role I have coming in. There’s been a lot of great quarterbacks that have come through here,” explained Lynch. “So I know that there is a lot of shoes to fill.”

Cris Carter Mentors Laquon Treadwell
It must have been destiny that wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2016 NFL Draft. That’s because his mentor, Gold Jacket Cris Carter, was a legendary wide receiver for the franchise. Now the pair will have even more time to work together and strengthen their relationship.
