Vikings HOFers to get HOF Ring of Excellence
The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers, the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will honor CRIS CARTER (Class of 2013), CHRIS DOLEMAN (Class of 2012), CARL ELLER (Class of 2004), BUD GRANT (Class of 1994), PAUL KRAUSE (Class of 1998), RANDALL McDANIEL (Class of 2009), ALAN PAGE (Class of 1988), JOHN RANDLE (Class of 2010), MICK TINGELHOFF (Class of 2015), and RON YARY (Class of 2001) Wednesday evening in Minneapolis during a Vikings Alumni dinner. The group will also be honored during a special halftime presentation of the new Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence at the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys. Hall of Fame President David Baker will be on hand at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis to present the Vikings Hall of Famers with their new Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence. Carter and Tingelhoff, who received their Rings in recent years, will join the group of Vikings Hall of Famers for the tribute.
The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is among three iconic symbols that represent the elite status of being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Each Hall of Famer received their Hall of Fame Gold Jacket and unveiled their Bronzed Bust during each of their respective Enshrinements. All three symbols – the Gold Jacket, the Bronzed Bust and the Ring of Excellence – will be displayed during the Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence presentation. Each of the Hall of Famers will wear their Hall of Fame Gold Jackets and their Bronzed Busts will be temporarily removed from the Hall of Fame to make their way to Minneapolis for the Ring of Excellence ceremony.
As part of the partnership between the Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers, all living members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will receive the new Ring of Excellence that was designed by Kay® Jewelers in 2013. This year marks the second of three seasons in which the Ring of Excellence will be presented to the Hall of Famers in special ceremonies.
