Forever Teammates
Gold Jacket Joe Montana knows the importance of teammates. Without “The Catch,” when Dwight Clark caught the game winning touchdown from Montana in 1981 NFC Championship Game, the 49ers would have one less Lombardi Trophy.
The city of San Francisco plans to name the streets of a development on the land formerly occupied by Candlestick Park after prominent sports figures, including “Joe Montana Drive.”
Montana however would prefer it to be renamed “Joe Montana-Dwight Clark Drive.” The Hall of Fame quarterback says he wants "to honor my very special friend."
