Jerry Jones and Momentum Worldwide Honored by Sports Business Journal

Dallas Cowboys owner and 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class member Jerry Jones was in New York City to receive the Sports Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award on Wednesday night at Times Square.

Also recognized during Wednesday’s ceremony as the Best in Corporate Consulting, Marketing and Client Services was Momentum Worldwide.
 
Momentum Worldwide has been a part and at the forefront of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s prestigious award, U.S. Army Award for Excellences for the past five years.
 
Together the U.S. Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame have established one of the nation’s most prestigious awards, The U.S. Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence. This award honors the Nation’s top sophomore, junior and senior level high school athletes. Not only do these students excel in their chosen sport, but they shine academically and are outstanding members of their communities.
 
This spring, the Army and Pro Football Hall of Fame will travel the country recognizing the top 25 finalists for this award, and thus far have completed 23 out of the 25 cities. This is a great honor not only for the recipient, but for the school, the community and the family.

The three-time Super Bowl-winning owner/general manager/president of the Cowboys was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year. Despite the fact that Dallas has not won a Super Bowl title since 1996, the franchise is currently valued around $4 billion, although it does not seem Jones is ready to sell any time soon.

In February 1989, Jones bought the Cowboys for $140 million. His team quickly went on to pile up Super Bowl victories in 1993, 1994 and 1996, establishing the franchise as a perennial power in the league.

Recently, he played a vital role in helping Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis secure the consensus of votes from other owners that would allow him to move his franchise to Las Vegas. One of the league’s most influential owners, Jones has played a vital role in helping the league expand financially through television deals.

Jones was named the NFL Executive of the Year in 2014 and his Cowboys won the NFC East division crown last year. He has undergone criticism in his career for his management of the team, but has struck gold in the past handful of seasons, with the additions of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Dez Bryant. After years of scouring for a successor to quarterback Tony Romo, the team stumbled upon Prescott, who at the very least played a role in Romo retiring and joining the broadcast booth as soon as this upcoming season.
